Senior Associate Director, Strategic Engagement Team (Respiratory)

Description: The Senior Associate Director, Strategic Engagement Team (Respiratory) Therapeutic Area (TA) and Health Systems (HS) role will serve as the functional lead and primary point of contact for US headquarters based (BIPI) customer engagement interactions, with key external experts (KEE) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs) in the healthcare environment, who are key drivers that influence disease and Health Systems management trends for patients. As the internal lead for coordinating cross functional collaborations with KEEs/KDMs, the incumbent will work with the internal and customer facing teams to create innovative strategies, programs, and tactics that support the company's strategic objectives and specific therapeutic / franchise and product goals. The incumbent must understand and be able to interact at a high level with KEEs/KDMs on both scientific and commercial strategies within a given disease/franchise and or Health System and to bridge engagement opportunities between BIPI and the external experts, on a proactive and on-going basis, with the goal of positioning the company as the preferred partner for scientific and commercial collaborations to support unmet medical needs for patients.   As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees   Duties & Responsibilities: Serve as BIPI's primary point of contact to build and maintain collaborative, mutually beneficial partnerships with KEEs/KDMs, using scientific, commercial and policy expertise, and extends these relationships to the cross functional internal teams. Using objective criteria, works with the cross functional teams to prioritize the KEEs/KDMs with which to partner. The SAD will proactively, and on an ongoing basis, advocate BIPI's priorities and objectives in the process of building strong relations with KEEs/KDMs at targeted associations meetings by participation at one-on-one KEE/KDM meetings and appropriate association events. The SAD will serve as the central point of internal coordination for Executive Engagements within identified disease states and or Health Systems, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and customer facing teams. The SAD identifies synergies and supports opportunities that advance BIPIs business objectives and ensures coordination of stakeholder engagement insight generation, associated follow up and accountability. Collaborates in the development of overall strategy as it relates to the specific franchise/therapeutic areas and or Health Systems. Additionally, helps to drive the development of KEE/KDM strategies and tactics to support products through effective stakeholder relations. Emphasizes shared goals between BI and appropriate external experts whose attributes and expertise align with internal business strategies and objectives. Participates in product, franchise and Health System planning processes and cross functional team meetings as a full team member. The SAD will foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and customer facing team members to complement and accelerate strategic engagement plans Evaluates, reviews and continually follows all applicable SOPs processes, and where appropriate, helps to make recommendations to streamline departmental workflow. Engages with Legal and Compliance on all KEE/KDM related activities as needed.  Responsible for creating a positive organizational culture and innovative approaches to KEE/KDM engagement planning and implementation.  SAD SE will focus on the identification, mapping, profiling and segmentation of KEEs/KDMs through field knowledge and the use of emerging web-based analytical tools such as ExpertMap and Medical CRM. Captures and organizes KEE/KDM insights to support Business and Scientific Decision making.  Identifies novel technology solutions to efficiently and effectively engage leading experts; possesses an in-depth knowledge of the social media space and e-business channels. Liaises with key cross functional company personnel, R&D, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs and Commercial  and as needed, key global colleagues, for objective identification and integration of most appropriate KEEs/KDMs into tactics, Participates in early compound development, brand planning and product team discussions to drive SE opportunities and maximize KEEs/KDMs understanding of the franchise and business needs. Leads KEE engagement planning and drives prioritized strategic programs and operational initiatives specific to KEE engagement planning and implementation.  Conducts prioritized KEE/KDM outreach for strategic engagement at major congresses, large regional meetings and/or virtual programs, where additional support is required.  Initiates KEE research on profile updates and prepares engagement meeting materials as needed. Develops content strategy, and assists with the planning of Strategic Engagement Discussion Guides for KEE Engagements on behalf of CDMA and Commercial internal customers; incumbent plays a key role in enabling the understanding of diseases, mechanisms of diseases and the potential role of BIPI products in the management of these diseases while gaining KEE/KDM insights that shape future business decisions. Researches industry benchmarks and provides best practices for measurement strategies, tools, dashboards and customer feedback techniques. Creates appropriate budgets and monitors expenditures, revising spending as needed. Input data into departmental financial tracking system as required. Drives Strategic Engagement cross functional metrics tracking to ensure accountability and transparency of appropriate KEE/KDM interactions and engagements. Centrally coordinates, maintains and ensures current database of KEEs/KDMs, Health Systems and in depth customized profiles (in collaboration with VEEVA) Possesses the ability to communicate effectively with academicians as well as practicing healthcare providers, Ensures accountability for personal performance growth in SE core competencies and skills for increased leadership within SE and the organization. Coordinates critical response communications. Helps build and innovate best practices for the company's Strategic Engagement function as requested by the Director, including, but not limited to, assistance with SE departmental planning and budgeting. Plans and execute responsibilities as assigned by the director or his/her designee Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience or Master's Degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and other related industries. Working knowledge in one or more of the Primary Care, Specialty Pharma disease states and or Health Systems Experience and expert knowledge is required in Key External Expert, or Key Decision Makers or stakeholder relations; experience and expert knowledge is preferred in the following areas: Clinical Development & Medical Affairs, R&D, patient advocacy, professional relations, managed markets, health systems, communications, government relations, marketing, and philanthropy Understanding of brand/ franchise and Health System needs, including relevant scientific, medical, economic and policy-related matters. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
